The foot is held in an angle of 90 degrees
compared to the lower leg while taping. (The same position if
the person is standing): First 1 or 2 anchors are placed
around the lower leg. The anchor must not be too close to the
ankle joint - 15-20 centimetres distance would be fine. Take
care not to wind the tape so tight that it stops the bloodstream.
|
Now a "stirrup" is placed on the inside of
the anchor, if the injury is on the tendon bands on the outside
of the ankle or starting on the outside, if the injury is on
the inside. The tape is led under the heel and up on the other
side in such a way that it covers the inner/outer ankle knuckle.
Before the tape is fastened to the anchor the tape must be drawn
in such a way, that the outer or inner foot edge is drawn a
little bit upward. |
The second "stirrup" is placed in the same
way that it covers the opposite ankle knuckle. |
