Passing to wing with high defense
If the defending wing moves out and covers high on the wing in the basic
play the following can be tried:
PM passes the ball to LB, who moves in
at act as she will pass the ball to the LW (a pass feint).
The defending
R1 moves out and covers for the pass.
LB turns and runs inward with a
passing movement against PM (the arm lifted).
PM attacks in order to make
the return pass more realistic.
But instead of passing to PM, LB moves
the arm down and back and the ball is bounced backward to LW, who has moved
quickly in after LB has started her run inward.
The system can be
performed by LB with or without a dribble before running in. In the last
case LB must put pressure on the 1st step and use the next 2 when running
in.
